Learning:
Introduction to Service
“Introduction to Service” is a sample of the project that was originally created for a national bank operating in the United States as a part of their onboarding curriculum.
This project was created in Articulate Storyline 360, with footage captured using Camtasia Studio. Graphics were designed in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and animations were made using Adobe After Effects. To protect the IP of the client, this demo was recreated using stock footage and generic logos. The technical aspects of the project have been recreated for the purpose of the demo.
Clients

This e-learning was one part of an entire curriculum consisting of 12 e-learnings that was requested by the client; with the purpose of introducing new hires to the wider organization. This e-learning was dedicated to introducing the Service department.
Deliverables

I employed a comprehensive set of skills to deliver a successful and engaging training module. Beginning with a meticulous Needs Analysis, I ensured a deep understanding of the learners’ requirements and organizational objectives. My proficiency in Adult Learning principles allowed me to design content that resonated with the target audience, incorporating interactive elements and real-world scenarios to enhance retention and application of knowledge. Throughout the project, effective collaboration with leadership was paramount, aligning the training goals with the broader organizational strategy and ensuring seamless integration. Managing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) was a crucial aspect, as I facilitated productive communication, extracted valuable content, and transformed complex information into digestible and impactful learning experiences. Utilizing Articulate Storyline, xAPI for robust tracking, and Camtasia Studio for screen capture, I crafted a dynamic and learner-centric module. Additionally, my proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and InDesign enabled me to enhance visual appeal, incorporating high-quality graphics, animations, and multimedia elements, resulting in a well-rounded and visually compelling e-learning solution.
Overview
This project exemplifies my multifaceted skill set, from strategic planning and needs analysis to hands-on content creation and technical proficiency in a range of tools. It underscores my ability to navigate the intricacies of adult learning, collaborate effectively with leadership, and harness advanced software to deliver impactful and visually appealing e-learning experiences.
I conducted a needs analysis and determined that a critical gap existed where new and existing employees were not familiar with the roles, functions, and outputs of various departments within the organization. The siloing of the different departments was originally done to contain confidential information, but an unintended consequence was that it also drove miscommunication and misunderstanding throughout the organization. We determined that a series of e-learnings would be the ideal method to introduce the departments to employees and consistently convey the right message while providing an interactive avenue for employees to engage with the department.
With the goal set, I worked closely with the company’s senior leadership team to develop an organization flow chart detailing how each department affects the company and their customers. From there, key representatives of each department and team were selected to take part in the series.
I then developed a script for each team and department that included an explanation of their department, what the responsibilities of the teams are, and how their work directly effects the customers.
This project was developed during the COVID-19 Pandemic, which prevented recording employees on location. So in order to get the level of engagement I wanted, I scheduled Zoom calls with each interviewee, and utilized OBS Studio and Camtasia to record each participant. The final recordings were editing using Adobe Premiere Pro with motion graphics elements implemented using Adobe After Effects.
Key Elements
The key interaction of the e-learning series consists of mouse-over engagement, which was a combination of still layers that hide to reveal a video when the learner hovers their mouse over the hotspot. Additional text layers were animated the same way.
A series of variables are placed in the storyline file that track completion of each section’s activity, that trigger a check mark visible at the “Select a Portfolio” screen. In the final deliverable, the learner was required to complete the interviews with each portfolio. For the sake of the demo the interview has been condensed to a single “interview question”.
The final deliverable also utilized xAPI to track completion, track progress across the entire curriculum, monitor interview question frequency, and add a level of personal ownership of the curriculum by pulling learner details from LRS (Learner Record Store).
